Hi, we are Catherine and Tom. We are qualified laughter leaders and specialise in the behavioural science of laughter.
LAUGHTER YOGA started in India in 1995 when Dr Madran Kataria observed the beneficial effects of laughter and prescribed it as a therapy. From just five members initially Laughter Clubs have spread to 100s of countries worldwide and now with thousands of Laughter Clubs. Laughing aloud is allowed and provides a safe space to laugh deeply. Hearty laughter lowers stress levels and boosts the immune system through the use of yogic breathing and laughter exercises. This promotes health and well being. Regular practice will help reduce anxiety and improve your outlook on life.
Our focus is on promoting wellness through laughter. Research underpins the vital role that laughter plays in making us feel great, on improving social connectedness, and building up resilience to real life challenges. Our laughter sessions will help your body relax while stretching and the laughter exercises will energise your brain with oxygen making you feel more alert.
Laughter for wellbeing incorporates mindfulness and meditation. It is important to take a break from daily life in order to focus on yourself and get clarity. Focusing on your breath during practice is key to staying in tune with your mind and body.
